5 Cheap & Unique Wedding Favor Ideas
Hey guys! Happy Sunday! Hope you are enjoying the long Labor Day Weekend :) Today’s post is another Bride on a Budget post where I will be going through 5 budget friendly/unique favor ideas!
Favors are sometimes the hardest part of wedding planning. Most brides want the favors to be cute but cost effective, which is not always easy to achieve. I see a lot of people doing koozies, which is great, but are your guests actually really using them after the wedding?
In my personal opinion I thnk the best favors are ones that can be eaten or drank. I have heard of people giving out nips (aka. the mini alcohol bottles), but of course nips do not necessarily cater to all your guests. You can also do candy, I don’t really think you can go wrong there. Who doesn’t love candy?!
But what if you don’t want to go the candy/mini alcohol route? Here are some cheap and unique ideas that guests will actually use again (all photos have URLs to take you directly to the site):
(I am biased because I did this as my favor haha). They make for great pictures!
I got mine during an Etsy sale from the vendor Naturual Succulents. I got 130 succulents for $160 (including shipping) and they all came beautifully and individually wrapped. I ordered well in advance and picked the shipping date for 2 weeks prior to my wedding. Depending on how many guests you have, if you want to go the succulent route and can get them on sale they usually end up being a good deal! Just make sure you shop those sales! (mine were <$1 a piece if you don’t include shipping costs!)
2. Donation to a charity!
I personally love this idea, especially if you are paying tribute to a family member or friend. Maybe you and your future spouse are both huge animal people and want to donate to a humane society. Or for cancer research - you can donate to any charity you want, and it also tells your guests something about you both based on what charity you choose! Also you don’t have to disclose the amount donated, so you can donate whatever you are able to based on your budget.
3. Custom tea bags
I think this idea is SO unique and goes back to the “guests love favors that are edible or drinkable”. These bags are $1.00 depending on the quantity you buy. You can customize the background and wording as well. Also if you like tea and there are leftover favors you can keep them! These bags/pricing are from Davids Bridal.
4. Bottle opener
You can’t really go wrong with a bottle opener because people always need them! Especially these flat ones are great to carry around in a wallet or purse. You can get these ones for about $1 a pop, depending on the quantity you buy, from Kate Aspen.
5. Playing cards
Again, people always love to have playing cards on hand! These are a great unique favor to give out, and you can get them for about $0.95 a pack!
I hope you enjoyed this post and got some inspo if you are looking for favor ideas! Let me know what kind of posts are your favorite (DIY projects, bridesmaid dress palettes, wedding attire on a budget, or something else!) and I can do more posts like that. Have a great rest of the long weekend!
