HOW TO GET CLEAR SKIN | CLEAR SKIN FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY
Hi everyone and welcome back to another post! Today I am sharing some of my favorite skin clearning products I used to get perfectly clear skin for my wedding!
Being in my mid-20s you would think I would no longer have any acne, right?! WRONG! Many of us even as adults still struggle with some forms of acne. Mine is blackheads. I also wanted to help prevent my occasional breakout and help even my skintone, so I got really into researching skin care. Having flawless skin is not something that happens overnight (and not guarenteed for everyone), so definitely get in a good routine wayyy in advance of your wedding (I would suggest by at least 4-6 months out). My other piece of advice is please DO NOT try new products close to your wedding!
Below is my skincare routine and some of my favorite products:
Step 1: Wash face with a cleansing brush
I am currently using the Clarisonic Mia 2, (which I couldn’t find on Amazon, but I found it here on QVC for a great deal). This Clarisonic shown below is from Amazon and pretty comprable, but definitely an investment item. I have been considering using a silicon brush because they are more hygenic, but am still looking into some options.
This is of the silicon brushes I am looking into getting since it carries less bacteria than a typical brush head. It is called the Solo Mio and has great reviews on Amazon for <$40!
Step 2. Toner
My favorite afforadble toner is The Ordinary. I LOVE this brand! Also Sephora sells this for about $8, but if you aren’t buying enough to get free shipping you are better getting it from Amazon. I just put this on a flat gauze pad.
Step 3. Post toner cleanse
I use Neogen Green Tea Pads - THESE THINGS ARE AMAZING. And pro-tip, cut them in half since they are so large to get double your money worth! Also they SMELL SO GOOD!
Step 4. Use a serum containing vitamin C
So this is where my routine gets a little pricier! I have 1 higher end serum I really love, but also have found a comprable one for half the price. The vitamin C helps to even out skin tone and make for firmer skin. My current fav is Ole Henriksen’s truth serum. It smells like CANDY and is SO hydrating!
For a more affordable truth serum I love is this InstaNatural serum, for 1/2 the price.
Step 5: Option - apply an acne cream
I use differin gel to target my blackheads, so I just apply this to my chin and nose. I have noticed a HUGE difference. This is pretty drying so I only use it about every other night.
Step 5: HYDRATE HYDRATE HYDRATE
A common misconception is if you have oily skin to not hydrate as much, but you actually need the hydration through moisturizers and oils to help calm your oily skin and help it balance out. I have several moisturizers/hydrating oils I like to use - varying from all different price ranges.
My everyday moisturizer is Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. I have bought this from Kiehl’s and from Sephora.
My next favorite moisturizing oil is a tad pricey. It is Pharmacy’s Honey Grail. I literally cannot rave about this product enough. It looks, feels, and smells like honey. It absorbs right into your face and does not leave it heavy or sticky. It is also superrrr moisturizing. (also the packaging is SO elegant)
And lastly I just wanted to mention some of my favorite masks that help maintain glowy, clear skin. One of the best ones for hyrdration is Origin’s Drink Up Mask. Also this Dead Sea Mud Mask for <$15 from Amazon my husband and I both love. And lastly, this Disco Kitten Diamond Peel Mask is AH-mazing. You literally peel it off your face in one piece, which is just so satisfying.
Now of course everyone’s skin is different and needs different things. I have combination skin and am prone to blackheads, and this routine seems to work very well for me. I think all of these products are great, so definitely follow my links to find reviews and do your research, maybe some of these would work great for you as well! If you guys try any of these let me know what you think!
